# Selling the family home

## What to tell us as the sale goes ahead, what to send, and what happens when the money arrives.

Selling the family home is often part of the plan, especially when someone is moving into aged care or a retirement village. Keep us up to date as the sale goes ahead, and talk to us before you do anything with the money.

### What to tell us

- When the home goes on the market
- When a contract is signed, and the settlement date
- The names of your real estate agent and your conveyancer or solicitor

### What to send us

- The contract of sale, once it's signed
- The settlement statement, once settlement is done

### When the money arrives

Text us when it lands. Your advice sets out what happens with the sale proceeds, such as paying a RAD, a downsizer contribution or investing, and in what order. We take you through the next step before you do anything with it.

### Centrelink

As your nominee, we tell Centrelink about the sale and update your record.

### For the Concierge

Once the home sells, we review the year with you again.

### Need help selling or buying?

We can introduce a vendor or buyer advocate. We don't pay or receive referral fees.
