# Signing documents with DocuSign

## Every document you sign with us comes by DocuSign, and nothing is signed in a meeting.

Every document you sign with us comes by DocuSign, an online signing service. Nothing is signed in a meeting, and there's nothing to print or post.

### What we send by DocuSign

- Your engagement letter after your initial meeting, with your invoice
- Your authorities, filled in, to sign in one sitting
- Your advice and all the paperwork to put it in place, in one envelope
- For ongoing service, your fresh agreement at each April or May review
- For the Concierge, anything new after your month 11 review

### How it works

1. Open the email from DocuSign and click **Review documents**.
2. Read each page. The yellow tags show where to sign, initial or date.
3. Click **Finish**. DocuSign emails you a copy, and we're told it's done.

You can sign on a phone, tablet or computer.

### Couples who share an email address

Tell us before we send it. We set it up so each of you signs in your own place, one after the other.

### Who signs

- Each person signs their own documents.
- An attorney signs for someone only under a power of attorney, and we need a certified copy of it first.
- If attorneys must act together, each of them signs.

### Signing and paying

For a new engagement, signing the letter isn't what starts it. Your engagement starts on the day we receive your payment.

### Not expecting one?

If a DocuSign email arrives that you weren't expecting, text us to check before you sign.
