Your annual review in April or May
Every ongoing household is reviewed in April or May each year, and it's also your tax planning session.
Every household on ongoing service, Foundations included, is reviewed every April or May, without fail. The review is also your tax planning session, so we can act before 30 June. Comprehensive households have a second review in October or November.
Before the review
- Early February: we email you to update your details and book your hour.
- A week before: your review pack arrives. It shows your year on one page, the fees, and what we'll cover.
The review
An hour with your adviser, by video or at our office. If you're a couple, it helps if you both come. We cover your year and what's changed, tax planning before 30 June, your portfolio and income, and keeping Centrelink, aged care and your estate current.
What you sign
- A fresh Ongoing Service Agreement, by DocuSign, with your fee disclosure statement: what you paid and what you received.
- Where your advice changes, the review pack is also your Record of Advice, and any forms come in the same envelope.
The day you sign becomes your consent date. The law requires your consent to ongoing fees each year. If it isn't renewed in time, the arrangement ends and the fees stop.
After the review
We make the changes we agreed, then send your tax statements to your accountant in July or August.
New to ongoing service? Your first review is the next April or May. For anything about your own money, talk to your adviser.
