What's in your Statement of Advice

Your advice in writing: what we recommend and why, what it costs, the risks, and what happens next.

Your Statement of Advice is your personal advice in writing. Your adviser walks you through it, and it's yours to keep.

What it covers

  • Your situation and goals: what you've told us, and what matters most to you.
  • Your strategy: how your income, super, investments, Centrelink, tax and estate fit together.
  • What we recommend, and why. If we recommend replacing a product, what you gain and what you give up.
  • What it costs: every fee and cost, in writing, before you agree to anything. Your adviser first explains our fees in your initial meeting.
  • Risks and alternatives: what to weigh up, and other options we considered.
  • What happens next: the steps to put it in place, and who does each one.

How it's set out

A short cover note, the slides your adviser presents from, and a technical appendix with the detail. If we recommend a product, you also get its Product Disclosure Statement and Target Market Determination.

How it reaches you

When your advice is signed off, we email you to book your advice presentation meeting. Your adviser takes you through it, and nothing is signed in the meeting. The same day, we email your advice to keep, with the recording. See The advice presentation meeting, and signing once.

Ask us anything

Ask as many questions as you like. If anything is unclear, text or email us before you sign and we'll book a call with your adviser. Nothing goes ahead until you approve it.

Ongoing service and the Concierge

On ongoing service, if your advice changes at a review, your review pack doubles as your Record of Advice. A bigger change means a new Statement of Advice. For the Concierge, going on to ongoing service at month 11 means a new one too.

For anything about your own money, talk to your adviser.
