When someone passes away

Tell us when you're ready, and we help with Centrelink, the accounts we set up and what comes next.

We're so sorry for your loss. When you're ready, text or email us. You don't need to have anything sorted first: we take you through it one step at a time.

What we'll ask for

To let Centrelink know, we ask for:

  • The funeral director's details
  • Next of kin details
  • The lawyer managing probate, if there is one

If it's easier, forward our email to the funeral director, or put us in touch with them.

What we do

  • Tell Centrelink, close off payments and deal with the final letters, while we're still the nominee
  • Help claim any funeral bond, annuity, term deposit or other account we set up
  • Work with the aged care home on its final account
  • Give the executor or accountant what they need from us

Documents for claims

Claims usually need certified copies of the death certificate, the will, probate and ID. We tell you exactly which ones, and help lodge everything for you.

If our engagement has ended

If a Concierge has finished and you didn't take up Centrelink care, the family tells Centrelink. We'll point you to the right form.

For a surviving partner

On ongoing service, your adviser calls you, then meets with you when you're ready to talk about what changes.

For the family

When the time is right, we offer the family a Family Money Review, at no charge, to help make sure what your parent built is looked after. See The Family Money Review.

For anything about your own money or an inheritance, talk to your adviser.
